Problem
- Workmen used to identify the location of fault in Fiber Network manually,
- Finding the route between location was huge process and prone to errors manually.
- Assessing the fiber network assets was a cumbersome process and time taking.
- Decision making during enhancement of fiber network needs geographical view of the network.
- The procurement of sdh equipment and Splice boxes was calculated using manual data which is dynamic in nature.
Solution
- Managing of fiber network assets with all the information of leasing and failed fiber information of wide spread network.
- The Fiber network is systematically segregated by district wise and created a network view using Kamada Kawai algorithm.
- The entire Network is digitized and using the interconnection between links and substation Junctions.
- All the Splice Boxes are geo tagged with certain approach roads information for each splice box during maintenance works.
- Digitizing the fiber network equipment improves the inventory management with accurate live information.
Outcomes
- Digitization of asset information reduced the regular submission of same data.
- The visualization of information of Splice box has corrected many locations.
- With the help of this application the time reduced to minutes, best accurate result
- For taking decision related to expansion of network manually using physical maps is made simple with the visualization of existing network.
- Maintaining of inventory with digitized data is easy and efficient process. it helps timely decision.
