- The dumping of septage waste was a serious issue haunting Thiruvananthapuram polluting its water bodies/public places.
- The lack of systematic processes for collecting septage waste (black water).
- The manual system took the delay in getting the service and the public must pay a high amount to avail it.
- Illegal truck operations were done at night and discharged the waste water in public places or water bodies.
Achievements
- No complaints from the public have been reported regarding the dumping of septage waste in a water body or public place since 24 months of the implementation of the system was implemented.
- The corporation began receiving requests from nearby local bodies falling outside the corporation limit.
- This service was highly successful and provided additional income to the truck drivers, who were more than happy to be part of it.
- The general public was provided with a mobile application that could be used to book the service.
