Manual Intervention: The existing accreditation card issuance process involves significant manual intervention.
Scalability Bottlenecks: There was a need to automate the process to accommodate any number of journalists, including district-level officers.
Accuracy Issues: Improving accuracy was required during the issuance of accreditation cards.
Duplicate Applications: There was a need to filter out duplicate applications from journalists when issuing cards.
Processing Delays: Significant delays needed to be reduced to the extent possible to issue accreditation cards to journalists.

Stakeholder Consultations: Departmental officials and district-level officers were consulted to identify functional requirements and workflow gaps.
Centralised System Architecture: A centralised, web-based solution was designed and developed to include modules for journalist registration, online submission, document upload, verification, workflows, and card generation.
Testing and Secure Deployment: The application underwent functional, security, and user acceptance testing, received necessary modifications based on feedback, and was deployed on a secure government hosting environment.
Training and Orientation: Orientation and training sessions were conducted for State and district-level officers to ensure effective usage of the system.
Phased Implementation and Engagement: Continuous stakeholder engagement, phased implementation, and system refinements were utilised to ensure successful adoption despite resource and transition challenges.

Digital Transformation: The project successfully transformed a largely manual and paper-based system into an efficient digital process.
Enhanced Record Integrity: Automated validation and verification mechanisms enhanced the accuracy and integrity of journalist records.
Reduction of Fraudulent Risks: Duplicate and ineligible applications are identified more effectively, minimising the risk of multiple accreditations.
Improved Transparency: Real-time application tracking and status monitoring provided transparency for both applicants and official workers.
Streamlined Workflows and Accountability: Departmental officials benefited from centralised record management, streamlined workflows, better monitoring capabilities, and improved accountability.
