Easing Building Construction & Approvals

Problem

• The issue of delay in according to permission for residential building construction up to a height of G+2 and up to a plot area of 670 square meters.
• Multiple visits of citizens to the office of GMDA.
• Hassled process of getting permissions from authority.
• Lack of transparency in the whole process and direct involvement of employees.
• The third-party middleman tried to further complicate the issues by misleading the applicants on various issues.

Solution

• Developed web-based software application to receive an application for building permission from the citizen
• Integrated GIS-based mobile application with the software application facilitates site verification and provides land use information.
• Facilitated instant generation of building permission on final submission by the ERTPs 
• Facilitated online payment of fees & fines computed digitally by the software.
• Except for monitoring the whole process and addressing the issues, there is no other involvement of officials

Outcomes

• Citizens are getting building permission in some cases within three days
• The system eliminates multiple visits by citizens to the offices earlier, and permission can be downloaded sitting at home.
• Generation of required data can be done instantly as per requirement, and the whole process is transparent and can be viewed by all.
• The system is quick, hassle-free, and automatic once all required documents are correctly uploaded online through this software.
• The applicant can self-monitor the whole process.
