 Installation of Solar Rooftop System on Government Buildings

Problem

  • Government Building Electricity bill expenses should reduced to Zero
  • Efficient use of the Government building terrace and area
  • Trying to make the execution process easier for the installation of a grid-connected solar rooftop system. 
  • Beneficiary awareness and coordination communication with other departments. 
  • Use of Conventional fuel which results in pollution. 

Solution

  • Annual Tender publication and shortlisting of vendors by GEDA. 
  • Finalization of Third-party inspection companies by GEDA. 
  • Application received from Different Government Departments. 
  • Solar rooftop system installation by vendor. 
  • Commissioning of the system by DISCOM.

Outcomes

  • Reduction in Electricity bill due to Net metering benefit
  • Reduction in use of Conventional fuel which results in pollution reduction. 
  • Approx. 60.9 million units of electricity generated so far by the installation of Solar rooftop systems.
  • Approx. 6.09 lakh tonnes of Co2 reduced so far by installation of Solar rooftop systems. 
  • Getting the benefit of a reduction in Electricity bill due to Net metering benefit
