Enhancing Daily Manufacturing Capacity of Oxygen

Problem

  • Need for Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) for treatment of critical COVID patients.
  • Conversion of Industrial Oxygen into Medical Oxygen.
  • Resolving issues of License, Transportation and Local Resistance.
  • Crisis Resolution, Prioritisation and Collaboration.
  • Resistance from Private Manufacturers.

Solution

  • Enhancing capacities of LMO Plants.
  • Issuance of Licenses to Industrial Oxygen Manufacturers.
  • Organising meetings with local leaders for extending support to LMO plants during the lockdown.
  • Deployment of District Teams in all LMO Plants and direct access to the office of the District Collector to all the Plants.
  • Deployment of Oxygen nurses in all hospitals to avoid misuse, and abuse of oxygen.

Outcomes

  • Enhancing LMO capacity to 650 metric tonnes per day.
  • Providing green corridors to LMO tankers and LMO supplied to other districts of Maharashtra and states during the second COVID wave.
  • Saved several lives in MMR, Pune, and Nashik divisions besides other districts and states.
  • Getting enhanced power permissions, FDA licenses, and even transportation of critical spare parts in golden hours.
  • 24 hours functioning of LMO plants.
