Improvement in the Functioning of Veterinary Institutes

Problem

  • OPD registration for animals or pets brought in for regular checkups, sickness, accidents, etc., was done on OPD registers.
  • Manual maintenance and recording of data across the veterinary institutes in the department
  • Manual processing of data was a cumbersome process 
  • Need for a method to reduce the time consumption in data recording
  • Lack of transparency and user-friendliness in the manual process of data recording

Solution

  • Development of software by the SPIC, Chandigarh, which was hosted through the public domain
  • Provision of separate login IDs to staff and management for viewing reporting functions 
  • Facilitation of smooth maintenance of records and smooth functioning of the department
  • Addition of 22 services accessed through the website for ease of dairy farmers and pet owners 
  • Development of the owner portal on the home page of chdanimalhusbandry.gov.in to book online appointments.

Outcomes

  • Improvement of services to the livestock owners through better management practices
  • Increasing practices like transparency, responsibility & accountability of department personnel
  • Smooth maintenance of the records of institutions and smooth functioning of the department
  • Time and energy saving of the livestock owners as well as employees of the department
  • This software is one of the best-being user-friendly, and self-explanatory.
