Decreasing the Frequency of Street Crimes
Problems
- Issue of frequent occurrences of a rampant street crime of snatching and robbery
- Reactivation of criminals out on bail due to lack of alternative sources of income
Solutions
- Creation of unique ‘spotting cues’ gathered from a database of caught criminals to identify them.
- Facilitated CCTVs with control room and field Hawkeye teams to track criminals’ escape routes
Outcomes
- 704 criminals have been arrested with 652 items/case properties in 7 months
- Decrease in street crime by 45% and increase in case solving percentage by 92%
- Successful rehabilitation of 36 criminals through counseling
