Sensitization of Teachers and Protection of Child Rights

Problem

  • Lack of awareness among teachers regarding the protection of child rights.
  • Adopting a right-based approach while building the character of a child.
  • The protection of child rights is often seen as a legal issue.
  • Protection of child rights isn’t seen from a psychological point of view.
  • The hesitancy of the teachers to attend the programme.

Solution

  • Designing a two hours long awareness programme.
  • Adopting a psychological approach.
  • Adopting a flexible approach while arranging programs.
  • Organising workshops for developing the right mindset among teachers 
  • Conducting the programme in discussion methodology.

Outcomes

  • Teachers have benefited tremendously after attending the awareness programs. 
  • Demand for more awareness programs is felt.
  • Positive behavioral approach replacing the legal framework-based approach.
  • Recipients are found to be more loving and caring towards their students.
  • Around 700 teachers were sensitized who are covering more than 7000 students.
