Sensitization of Teachers and Protection of Child Rights
Problem
- Lack of awareness among teachers regarding the protection of child rights.
- Adopting a right-based approach while building the character of a child.
- The protection of child rights is often seen as a legal issue.
- Protection of child rights isn’t seen from a psychological point of view.
- The hesitancy of the teachers to attend the programme.
Solution
- Designing a two hours long awareness programme.
- Adopting a psychological approach.
- Adopting a flexible approach while arranging programs.
- Organising workshops for developing the right mindset among teachers
- Conducting the programme in discussion methodology.
Outcomes
- Teachers have benefited tremendously after attending the awareness programs.
- Demand for more awareness programs is felt.
- Positive behavioral approach replacing the legal framework-based approach.
- Recipients are found to be more loving and caring towards their students.
- Around 700 teachers were sensitized who are covering more than 7000 students.
