Streamlining the Property Tax Assessment Process

- The earlier method of Property Tax under the ARV system was complex.
- The general public cannot understand the levy procedure and cannot calculate the property tax independently.
- The provision of tax revision was not followed.
- The financial position of ULBs was not in a good state.
Achievements
- Introduced floor rate system in levy and assessment of property tax
- Formation of state-level committees and sub-committees to study the Capital Value Systems in ULBs
- Made necessary changes in the Property Tax Module under e-Municipal ERP
- Issued circular instructions to all the Commissioners prescribing the procedure for adaption of Capital Value System
