- Stagnation of rainwater in subways, railway tracks, roads, public buildings, etc.
- Construction of new stormwater drains.
- The topography of Chennai city is flat and the variation in average land elevation is only 2m above the main sea level.

- Reduction in flooding in all the places of the project area.
- Reduced risk to the public, especially during cyclonic conditions and intense spells of rain.
- Groundwater recharge and reduced runoff through innovative solutions.
- Restoration of 210 water bodies in Chennai city.
