Youths and Gender Equality Impact on Elections

Young voters in Jiribam exhibited low awareness and participation in electoral processes.
Marginalised genders, especially women and non-binary individuals, lacked representation in the political landscape.
Social inequalities, poor education on democratic duties, and rural isolation reinforced voter apathy.
First-time voters were hesitant and uninformed about registration and voting rights.
Youths lacked platforms for civic engagement and felt disconnected from decision-making processes.

Over 3,000 external citizens and 400 internal stakeholders engaged through outreach.
Noticeable increase in youth and women voter turnout during the 18th Lok Sabha election.
Strengthened electoral preparedness, inclusive practices, and grassroots awareness of democratic rights.
Youths demonstrated civic responsibility, bridging gender divides through shared participation.
Jiribam emerged as a model for inclusive, participatory electoral governance.
