Integration of Housing with Livelihood Support Services

Problem

  • Constructing new houses within a year for beneficiaries who are more resilient to future disasters.
  • Improving the living standard for people who became homeless due to flood.
  • Coordinating with the cooperative sector.
  • New houses should be more resilient to future disasters.
  • Coordination of various departments and arranging sufficient technical staff.

Solution

  • Integration of housing with livelihood support services.
  • Rehabilitating flood victims through Care Home Project.
  • Envisaging the construction of 2000 houses through Care Home Project.
  • Donations were received from more than 2,500 societies and their employees for this project.
  • The cooperative sector provided generous support for the Care home project.

Outcomes

  • Time bounded construction of 2000 houses and their delivery to concerned beneficiaries.
  • Replicability and sustainability of the initiative.
  • Better quality construction, flood resilience, etc.
  • Meticulous planning with systematic implementation.
  • Designs could be adapted to suit specific requirements.
