  1. Its an extraordinary work to protect coastal areas of West Bengal by way of planting mangroves on a large scale. Great effort by all involved in this herculean work.

  2. A very essential project considering past repeated disasters. Happy to know it’s the world’s largest project of 20 crores plant. The fishbone idea was wonderful. It will protect against high winds as well reduce saline water flooding.Wish all those involved the very best.

  3. If we look the extent of damge to coastal areas due to cyclone, the protection of the banks are most important and only solution we have is the coastal belt plantation in a planned way.
    I am really lucky that I have worked under Saurabh sir, IFS APCCF . Sir is gem of the Forest Department. Hope this project will create a great impact on the field

  9. Much required initiative. Please also collaborate with scientific institutions for microbial ecology as that would govern the vegetational / litter dynamics and subsequently the chain.

  10. Protection of mangrove is the protection of land, conserving biodiversity. It is need of the hour and after devastating cyclones. Very good initiative from WB Forest Dept and it must continue.
