  1. This programme helps farmers of coastal area whose land became saline due to inundation by Sea water caused by very high tide during natural calamity.

  2. An Excellent variety ideally adapted in saline condition . The variety performed very well during very recent past for YAAS affected areas in the state due to ingress of salt water.

  3. To give a new ray of hope to the AMPHAN and YAAS affected farmers of the Sunderbans this project shows how a government should reconstruct the livelihood of the affected farmers through introduction of a new variety of paddy that suitable for that particular critical situation.

  4. its a variety specially required for coastal Delta areas of South 24 Parganas, & Nort 24 Parganas along with coastal areas of Purba Medinipur district which are vulnerable to saline water ingress and prone to cyclonc disaster in premonsoon season and even ealy monsoon to mitigate salinity problem in soil.
