Case Study
You Matter – Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance
The “You Matter” initiative, launched in March 2024 by Star Union Dai-Ichi Life Insurance, was designed as a comprehensive wellness ecosystem connecting insurance with holistic well-being. Its focus extended beyond financial security to mental, physical, and lifestyle health, making it a unique proposition in the BFSI space.
At its core, the app serves as a digital advisor, offering evidence-based tools to support stress management, meditation, positive psychology practices, and resilience-building. The dashboard was developed for ease of use, minimizing clicks and ensuring that features like activity tracking, financial calculators, product pages, and policy servicing tools are easily accessible. This approach aligns health and financial goals, encouraging users to adopt healthier lifestyles while managing their insurance needs.
The app’s wellness features include guided meditation sessions, customizable stress management techniques, Aktivo Score-based activity tracking, diet planners, and healthy recipe suggestions. It also dedicates space for women’s health, with resources on conditions like PCOD/PCOS, lifestyle management, and preventive care. By integrating doctor consultations, lab tests, scans, and pharmacy discounts, the app expands into preventive healthcare, providing a one-stop solution for physical and mental health.
The insurance linkages further strengthen its relevance. Policyholders, particularly those under PMJJBY, can download certificates and access policy details directly through the app. Customer servicing is integrated with portals and chatbots, ensuring efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
The project demonstrated strong traction, achieving 175,000 downloads in less than two years, with high user engagement in wellness and insurance services. Beyond individual adoption, the app enhanced brand equity for SUD Life, positioning it as a customer-centric insurer innovating at the intersection of health, wellness, and finance.
